40% of the UK's carbon emissions come from heating our homes and hot water.
The CO2 absorbed by trees throughout their life is released into the atmosphere when virgin wood is burned - the same amount as if it were decomposing on the forest floor.
This makes burning wood a CO2-neutral process.
We at LOG-ISTICS know our wood from our trees.
We know the slowest-burning wood (e.g. Yew, Thorn, old Oak), the sweetest-smelling (e.g. Walnut, Cherry, Apple, Plum), the woods that provide little heat or too much smoke (e.g. Elder, Douglas Fir, Alder), wood which can be burned even if it is still 'green' (e.g.Holly), wood which should not be burned (e.g. Laburnum) and many more.
Some woods are more useful if chopped into sticks for use as kindling, and it is sometimes prudent to mix a slow-burner with a more flammable variety.
When we identify your tree for felling, or deliver your order of seasoned logs, we are happy to offer advice on how to get the most out of your fuel.
